Although not highlighted in our final project 1 presentation, we had a running idea in our development that highlighted the trip from South Bank to Fortitude Valley. This journey can be interpreted as making a section cut through central Brisbane, highlighting key environments and spaces within it.
Immediately progressing from the work done in project one, I approached
the site in the CBD by viewing it through a section.
I feel this 'route' is a great way to initially visualize my future Brisbane, as it covers a diverse range of urban environments and runs through the heart of our site. Due to the importance of this axis, I feel it is appropriate to base my project 2 location either on or close by to it. This route is already a key point of access to the CBD and will become increasingly fundamental as time progresses.
This overhead view clearly shows the site area and the axis I discussed above, running
through the site (Victoria Bridge and Queen St). This is a key area of focus for my
site analysis and site selection.
