Week 7 -Reading Reflections

Lynch's article highlighted how elaborate construction projects had been abandoned, as the tempo of change unrelentingly increased.

When it comes to versatility and flexibility, I ask ultimately how flexible can a building itself be? The structure itself is very unadaptable and any changes that are made are of contents and surrounding environments. Deductions and additions are also ways of creating change. You can't re-bend a concrete slab for example.

For me, choosing a flexible form for the future is futile. Flexibility and adaptability is what we make of it in the future, we worry too much about it and consume too much of our time trying to solve these 'yet to occur' problems in the present.
